Terms and Conditions

Participation in this Project is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to submitted.

Defined terms

The terms below are referred to throughout the terms and conditions:

“Project” – Tell Your Story (www.storytellertravel.co.uk/tellyourstory) and www.storytellertravel.co.uk/photos

“our Company/Companies” – Storytellerr Ltd and their respective related companies, subsidiaries, advertising or promotional agencies and directors, officers, agents, artists, employees and all others associated with the development and execution of the Project.

“Writer/Writer’s” – individuals that have sent any content. Content includes all forms of written, photographic, video and visual content.  

“Prize”- A Storyteller Bamboo T- Shirt

Eligibility to submit content:

Entry is open to all residents worldwide aged 18+.

How to provide content and enter competitions:

Eligible Writers can submit content in written form, photography, video and any other visual content.

Competitions can be entered by Writers who confirm they are the sole creators and owners of the content provided. Any content that does not belong to the Writer, will not be eligible to be published or be any form of reward.

Writers can provide any amount of content to be selected for publishing. All content that is published is chosen by our Company and chosen based on the criteria referred to below.

Publishing:

This Project will run from 1 March 2018 until 1 March 2019.  All chosen content will be selected on the 1st of every month. Eligible Writers who have had their content accepted for publishing, will be notified at least 2 days before the post is published. The content will then be published on www.storytellertravel.co.uk/tellyourstory or www.storytellertravel.co.uk/photos.

All published content will include name, occupation, social media handles and an external web link if required.

Once the content is published, it will fall within the review period for the competition that month, after which a winner will be chosen for each page, i.e. one for written and one photograph prize.

Review period and winners:

Once the chosen content has been published on www.Storytellertravel.co.uk/tellyourstory or www.storytellertravel.co.uk/photos it will fall within the 10 day review period which will take place each month.

Our Company will review the content on the following criteria:

  • Quality –judged by the companies panel based on impact and creativity.
  • Social Engagement – after seven days of sharing the content on our social media pages, engagement in forms of reactions, shares and comments on the post will be considered.
  • Visitors on the page/photograph- measurement of traffic to the content.

The scores or ranking will not be disclosed to any individual, the winner each month will be chosen based on the highest ranking.

If any content has been promoted unfairly through automated software to increase visitor volume, we will remove this and the individual’s prize will be forfeited.

The Prize:

Two Prizes will be given at the end of each month. The winners will receive one Storyteller T-shirt each within 4 weeks of being announced as a winner. Although winners will be able to pick the t-shirt they want, if a selected t-shirt is not available, Storyteller reserves the right to send the winner another Storyteller t-shirt which is in stock.

One Prize will be given for written content and one Prize will be given for visual content, I.e. either photograph/video content etc.

Winning entry and notification:

Winning Writers will be notified within 7 days of the decision being made. If there is no contact from the Writer after being advised of winning within 7 days, they will be seen to have forfeited their prize and it will no longer be available for acceptance.

Winners will be required to provide their full name, location, photo and any related comments for use in any advertising or publicity, without further compensation, unless prohibited by law, and entry into this Project is deemed to be consent and authorisation.

Non-winning entrants will not be notified. The Company accepts no responsibility for entries not received. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt.

Validity of entry:

The Company reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and disqualify any Writer should their entry not be in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

Liability Exclusion:

Writers agree that the Company shall not be liable or responsible for any damages, losses or any injuries relating from this Project, or from Writers acceptance receipt, possession and/or use or misuse of the prize.

The Company assume no responsibility for any damage to the Writer’s computer system which is occasioned by accessing the Website or participating in this Project, or for any computer system, phone line, hardware, software or program malfunctions, or other errors, failures, delayed computer transmissions or network connections that are human or technical in nature.

Without limiting the generality, the Company is not responsible for incomplete, illegible, misdirected, misprinted, late, lost, damaged, stolen, or postage-due submissions or prize notifications; or for lost, interrupted, inaccessible or unavailable networks, servers, satellites, Internet Service Providers, websites, or other connections; or for miscommunications, failed, jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected computer, telephone or cable transmissions; or for any technical malfunctions, failures, difficulties or other errors of any kind or nature; or for the incorrect or inaccurate capture of information, or the failure to capture any information.

The Company reserves the right in their sole discretion to disqualify any individual who is found to be tampering with the entry process or operation of the Project or Website, to be acting in violation of these rules, acting in a disruptive manner, or with the intent to disrupt or undermine the legitimate operation of the Project, or to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person, and the Company reserve the right to seek damages and other remedies from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.

The Company shall have the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Project at any stage. If the Project is terminated before the designated end date, the Company will select the winners from all eligible submission received before the close of the project. In the event that any provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, these rules shall otherwise remain in effect and shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein.

Other conditions:

By entering this Project, Writers consent and agree to the Companies collection and use of the Writer’s information for the administration of the Project and agree for the Company to use the Writer’s information.

The Writer may revoke the use of such information by emailing hello@storytellertravel.co.uk with a copy of the content, full name and confirmation that they longer wish for their content/details to be used by the Company.

By taking part in this Project, Writers acknowledge compliance with and agree to be bound by these Project regulations, including eligibility and using original content created by the Writer.

The Writers agree to release the Company, affiliated companies, subsidiaries, members, dealers, advertisers, franchisees, promotional agencies, partner charities and each of their respective directors, sponsors, partners, licensees, officers, subsidiaries, agents, employees, artists, advisors, assignees, and all others associated with the development and execution of the Project, from and against any and all manner of action, causes of action, suits, debts, covenants, contracts, claims and demands, including legal fees and expenses, whatsoever, including but not limited to, claims based on negligence, breach of contract and fundamental breach and liability for physical injury, death, or property damage which the entrants or his/her administrators, heirs, successors or assigns might have or could have, by reason of or arising out of the Writer’s participation in the Project and/or in connection with the acceptance and/or exercise by the Writer of the prize awarded.

The Writers release and hold harmless the Company and their respective related companies, their subsidiaries, advertising or promotional agencies and directors, officers, agents, artists, employees and all others associated with the development and execution of the Project, from and against any and all liability with respect to or in any way arising from the Project and the awarding, use, or misuse of any prize awarded, including liability for personal injury or damage to property.

The Companies are not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate entry information which may affect a person’s ability to participate in the Project or be awarded a prize, including but not limited to human error, technical malfunctions, lost or delayed entries for any reason, mail failures, omission, or any combination thereof, and entries which fail to fully comply with the Project regulations. No responsibility will be taken by the Company for lost, delayed, mutilated or misdirected entries or Release Forms.

Any attempt to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of this Project is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, the Company reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are forged, falsified, altered or tampered with in any way.

The Company reserves the right, in their sole discretion; to cancel or suspend this Project without notice should any cause beyond the reasonable control of the Companies corrupt the security or proper administration of the Project.

This competition is subject to English law.
